Lisa is a tourist in an ancient city. When she gets lost, she finds an old mansion in which to shelter. Soon she is sucked into a vortex of deception, debauchery and evil presided over by housekeeper Leandre.
After being dissatisfied with Mario Bava]'s original cut of {$Lisa and the Devil, producer Alfredo Leone decided to capitalize on the continued popularity of The Exorcist and inserted a handful of exorcism scenes (shot with the assistance of Bava) into the film and releasing it under the title, House of Exorcism. Innocent, voluptuous Lisa (Elke Sommer) begins her travails when she keeps on encountering a sinister fellow (Telly Savalas), carrying around a mannequin of a man she has killed. Unfortunately for her, she ends up hiding in the mansion of a psycho family where death looms overhead. All of this is intercut with an exorcism story starring Robert Alda as a priest who is trying to help a now-possessed Lisa regain her grip on reality.
Durante un viaggio in Spagna, la turista americana Lisa incontra in uno strano negozio di oggettistica un uomo, e rimane sconvolta dalla sua somiglianza con una raffigurazione del Diavolo presente in un affresco che aveva visto poco prima, durante una gita turistica. L'uomo, a sua volta incantato per via dell'incredibile somiglianza di Lisa con Elena, una nobildonna morta decenni prima, riesce ad attirarla nel palazzo dove, apparentemente, presta servizio come maggiordomo. Qui Leandro (questo il nome del Diavolo-maggiordomo), manovrando bizzarri manichini, si diverte a tormentare i vecchi abitanti del palazzo facendo loro rivivere il momento della morte
