It follows the story of a genie, that goes by the name of the Wishmaster, who will fulfil your 3 wishes, but not as you would expect him to. That is what the movie starts with. In 1127 in Persia, when the Emperor asks the Wishmaster to make him see the wonder no one has seen before, the Wishmaster tortures, mutilates and even mutates people into dangerous creatures in the grand palace. It can be said it’s a wonder no one else has seen till now. That’s the Wishmaster for you.
Despite its low budget, the movie was an instant hit and was the 2nd most-watched movie on the opening weekend. It spawned a franchise, under which 3 sequels were made too. The following movies did not get as much attention as the 1997 original did, but the Wishmaster has become a memorable character.
