      An Blutgericht in Texas erinnere ich mich nur noch sehr wage. Weiss aber noch, dass ich ihn damals sehr enttäuschend empfand.
      Ich kenne die ersten vier Teile. Damit war das Thema für mich durch. Danach keinen Leatherface/TCM Film mehr angeschaut.
      ..einfach nochmal gucken, vieleicht spielt dir die erinnerung nur einen streich und du hast damals etwas anderes erwartet. im alter sieht man gewisse dinge auch wieder anders. die deutsche syncro macht auch was aus. bei teil 1 soweit ok, im englischen ton wirkt tcm aber auch anders, vom zweiten moechte ich immer wieder gerne von der deutschen syncro abraten und chop top im originalton ist eigentlich pflicht, das schafft keine syncro (hab fast alle gehoert). der dritte faellt da auch etwas aus der rolle, vom vierten fang ich jetzt aber nicht an :3:

      Möglicherweise hierzu das Fancasting wobei mittlerweile uns verlassene Darsteller (z.B. Gunnar Hansen) aufgezeigt werden.

    • ..das ganze scheint nur ein vorhaben gewesen zu sein, dass sich an diese idee anlehnt, glaube nicht an zufall, das der film den gleichen titel oder aehnlichen (upon) traegt und die timeline erwaehlt, wie von hooper und henkel erdacht. die mycast seite ist auch dafuer gemacht: was waere wenn ein fan das so und so sich vorstellt, haette sein koennen, duerfte, muesste etc. mit diesen darstellern, regisseur usw. also gab's da auch sogesehen nie ein wirkliches casting.

      evtl. wurde der aus urheberrechtlichen gruenden (titel, filmfiguren und story) nicht weiter verfolgt. bill moseley hatte glaube auch bei seinem all american massacre deshalb probleme mit der veroeffentlichung, bzw fertigstellung..

    • Die fertige Sneak-Preview steht leider auf Privat, schade.
      Komisch finde ich es dennoch, unter den Angeboten befindet sich auch der 79 verstorbene John Wayne, den stellt doch kein normaler Mensch zur Votingauswahl wenn er so oder so nicht mehr aktiv mitwirken kann :3:

      Nun ja, jedenfalls war ein Fanfilm mit dem Titel & Poster in der Mache, aus welchem genau selbiges rauskam wie einst. Nämlich nix.
      So gesehen stimmt es ja, ein nie fertiggestellter Fanfilm.

    • wer weiss was da bisher realisiert wurde. interessant waere es allemal, wegen der grundidee . gibt aber zum glueck noch paar andere fanfilme, die jetzt nicht so schlecht sind, in der mache oder teils gut umgesetzt.

    • Joa schon recht nette, kreative Sachen bei. Teils steckt mehr Herzblut in den fertigen Projekten als manch Blockbuster dem ein löchriges Drehbuch wie schweizer Käse vorausgeht.
      Vlt. kriegen wir ihn eines Tages doch mal zu sehen.

      Ist am Ende möglicherweise wie bei "Phenomena" oder "Poltergeist" - ich weiger mich, schiebe ihn dann doch mal rein und zack, neue Perle entdeckt.

      		Leatherface "Pretty Woman" mask from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Bryanston, 1974). - In the annals of film history, there are several masks that can be considered classic: the mask worn by the Phantom of the Opera to hide his disfigurement, or that worn by Zorro to conceal the identity of the wealthy Don Diego de la Vega. Batman's mask is known to million's worldwide, while Jim Carrey's verdant visage in the aptly titled 1994 feature, "The Mask", is similarly well-known. Of all the masks ever worn upon the silver screen, however, the most disturbing and possibly the most unforgettable, are the faces worn by actor Gunnar Hanson in director Tobe Hooper 's classic horror film, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Created by art director Bob Burns for the low-budget classic, this is the "Pretty Lady" mask (so named because it is decorated with grotesque lipstick, eye shadow, and a horrendous black wig) worn by the character Leatherface during the dinner scene in the latter part of the movie. Art Director Bob Burns reportedly made the mask from a fiberglass material (which is no longer manufactured) and latex. One of only two masks used in the film (the other is the infamous "Killing Mask"), Burns has claimed that there were no duplicates made of either prop, making this a unique piece of film history. In an e-mail received shortly before Burn's death, the artist said, "I was amazed to find out this mask was still in existence. I had thought it had been discarded 25 years ago. It's always a thrill when my work pops up somewhere like this." The mask, along with several other key props, was kept in a storage room in Austin Texas until the unit was abandoned by the renter. At that point, the contents of the storage room were sold on a blind bid basis to a furniture store in Austin. From there, the contents were acquired by Ed Neal (the "Hitchhiker" in the film), who has kept possession of them until consigning them to this auction. According to Neal, "This mask really creeped me out the first time I saw it on the set. Bob Burns did such a great job creating it, and Gunnar Hansen really brought the thing to life. Even more than the Killing Mask, this is the face that still gives me nightmares. I hate to part with this, but I have faith that it will find a good home with some devoted fan." The mask, which is mounted on a styrofoam head form, is in delicate condition, and has not received any conservation or restoration work of any kind. It has been authenticated by both the creator, Bob Burns, and by Ed Neal.

    • hier mal ne story absolute, ich lese das interview^ bei texas monthly, hatte letztens auf der offiziellen texas chainsaw seite, was gelesen wegen dem mann bei der tankstelle aus dem news letter heraus konnte ich mich noch erinnern,

      He got the role by way of being close friends with scream queen Marilyn Burns, who was also instrumental in stitching together many aspects of the film’s casting and production. Robert was 25 at the time he played the gas station valet. His performance helps feed the mysterious backwoods energy that is present throughout the film.
      He has no dialogue. Is he mute? Is he deaf? Is he intellectually challenged?

      The only action we see him take is the obedient and empty task of slopping soapy water to clean the van’s windshield which is queued by the Cook’s interaction with Jerry, Kirk, and Franklin. The window washing is completed only when the Cook slaps the van to signal it’s “time to go”. What other kinds of mundane or nefarious orders does the window washer take from the Cook?

      (1948 – 1985) A long overlooked and neglected member of the Chainsaw family, Robert Courtin was born on July 22, 1948 in Minnesota. The Window Washer was Robert’s only film role. Robert worked behind the camera at a camera rental firm in Los Angeles from 1979 until his death on July 11,1985.

      ..im interview auf texasmonthly, zitat Tobe Hooper wie er darauf gekommen ist den film zu drehen:

      The way Hooper remembers it now, the inspiration for Chainsaw occurred at Montgomery Ward during the frenzied Christmas shopping rush in December of 1972: “There were these big Christmas crowds, I was frustrated, and I found myself near a display rack of chain saws. I just kind of zoned in on it. I did a rack focus to the saws, and I thought, ‘I know a way I could get through this crowd really quickly.’ I went home, sat down, all the channels just tuned in, the zeitgeist blew through, and the whole damn story came to me in what seemed like about thirty seconds. The hitchhiker, the older brother at the gas station, the girl escaping twice, the dinner sequence, people out in the country out of gas.”

      ^ '..the older brother' der (siehe text im spoiler) das selbe trägt wie edwin neal.. somit könnte es mindestens vier brüder geben und die sippe um lederfratze scheint demnach größer als gedacht. und je mehr ich mich mit diesem film beschäftige, desto interessanter wird es. vorallem auch in hinblick auf zusammenhänge im horrorgenre und der entstehung von diversen plots.
      ich weiss, das sich diese aussage wahrscheinlich auf den koch bezieht, nur bin ich mir hier sehr sicher, dass es so auch angedacht ist und kein zufall ist, das er auch die selbe kleidung trägt und chop-top, der bruder zur selben zeit in vietnam ist. deshalb wohl auch die militärkluft. da könnte es so sein, wie im valley von kim henkel gedacht, eine ganze stadt voller kannibalenmörder und mitwissende, andeutung macht auch der besoffene auf dem friedhof.. beim remake haben wir auch so eine richtung, mit den frauen oder dem sheriff, im leatherface zb... das wäre wieder so ein interessanter punkt in hinblick auf so manche interpretationen des stoffes und könnte einiges erklärbar machen, auch wenn es zusammengeschustert wird..

      There is a new laserdisc out from Elite, and to the degree it's possible, what they've done is digitize the original and cleaned it up somewhat. They've also processed the sound into stereo. I had the opportunity of making the color balance right as well, but there wasn't any cutting of the film. In fact, there was only one cut of the film made originally, and there were no deletions made by the MPAA, so there wasn't much to go back to. What they did on the laserdisc is add some supplemental footage and sequences that never made it into the original. There are scenes that I had re-shot, there were several scenes where the lens was bad -- back in those days, shooting in Austin, you didn't have dailies, you had weeklies, and it was not at all like it is now.       TH: I was very selective in shooting the film. We had that one scene where they hang the girl on the meat hook, right? I wanted the film to get a rating, and in my naïveté I hoped to get a PG rating. I knew that in film theory that tantalizing the audience with the promise of an image, and then getting around it editorially, allows everything to happen in the mind. We fill in the blank, I think, with much more serious information than we could have seen anyway.
      So what happened was that I was constantly calling the MPAA while I was shooting the film and in particular I was asking, "How do I get a PG rating and then hang a girl on a meat hook?" And then there was a long silence. I started tap-dancing, then, and I said, "Look, if you don't see penetration, if you don't see blood, can it be implied?" And they said yes. Of course, the way you see it in the finished film is you see the girl coming toward the meat hook with it in the foreground, and then it cuts around. There's dried blood in the background from other meat hook hangings, but as soon as she's struggling on the hook, the camera tilts down under her feet and comes to rest on a big washtub. And you know immediately what that's meant to do: not to ruin the carpet and minimize the clean-up. I ended up planting visual tricks like that all the way through. It's amazing, because that with the title combined makes it in some people's minds as the goriest film they've ever seen. In terms of quantity, though, it could fit in a test tube. [i][Ed.       Gegen ne düstere X-Version hätt ich jedoch persönlich absolut 0 Einwände, wobei TCM so wie er ist, wirklich passt :254:

    • er hatte doch auf ein pg13 spekuliert, was auch eigentlich sein könnte, weil vieles auch im off passiert.
      das ist dann wahrscheinlich die sache gewesen, schreibt er auch, das denn zuviel kopfkino losgeht und die leute einen härteren film sich vorstellen oder in erinnerung haben als er tatsächlich ist.

    • Man weiß ja nie ob noch gewisse Szenen aus diversen Gründen im Schneideraum liegen, aber das ein düsterer Cut existieren köönnte davon hör ich zum 1.Mal.
      Fürn PG-13 ist der imo nicht geeignet.
